About Dr. Ashik
Dr. Ashik Sainu Mohiyadeen completed his MBBS from the prestigious Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) in India followed by Residencies in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Gastroenterology & Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy from Reputed Centres in India.
He successfully completed his advanced GI Endoscopy training from the UK (Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham and Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Scotland ). He was successful in completing his MRCP ( UK ) and SPECIALITY certification in Gastroenterology from the UK. Dr Ashik set up the GI, Hepatology and Therapeutic Endoscopy Unit in Aster Al Raffah Hospital , Muscat and presently is the Head of Gastrointestinal Services across Aster Muscat, Sohar and Ibri hospitals . He also is the MEDICAL Director for Aster Oman.
He spends most of his time at Aster Al Raffah Hospital, Muscat but also visits Aster Sohar & Aster Ibri hospitals to offer his services and supervises a team of 4 Gastroenterologists across Oman .
He has published several papers in national and international journals. The department conducts regular CME (Continuing Medical Education) and conferences in Oman. His areas of interest are Therapeutic Endoscopy and Hepatobiliary ERCP and EUS .
